Meet our Head Instructor
Professor Art Glauser
I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, and I’ve been training in Jiu-Jitsu for a decade.

Alongside that, I’ve spent many years in education, working as a high school teacher, program coordinator, and principal, both internationally and here in British Columbia. I’m a certified teacher in BC and hold a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education focused on teaching and learning strategies. I’m currently completing a Master’s in Counseling Psychology as I work toward becoming a Registered Clinical Counselor.

As a father of two, I understand how important it is for children and adults to be in environments where they feel safe, supported, and encouraged. That perspective shapes how I teach and how I build this community.
I’ve also had the opportunity to live and travel abroad, and I speak Chinese fluently, which has given me a deeper appreciation for different cultural perspectives and ways of understanding people.

My path hasn’t been a straight line. I faced many challenges growing up: instability, setbacks in school, and the need to find my own direction early on. Those experiences shaped how I see people and why I care so much about creating spaces where others feel supported, especially during difficult or uncertain times.
Whether in the classroom, in counseling, or on the mats, my goal is simple...
...to help people build confidence, find their footing, and step forward with clarity and strength both on and off the mats.
